Industrial (Strength) Revenue Growth? Sure, with upfront prep and some experimentation says Accenture’s Paul Daugherty, Prith Banerjee, Allan Alter, and Walid Negm in Using the Industrial Internet of Things to Drive Revenue Growth. A snapshot blog as to where the potential payoff – with conservative estimates placing worldwide Industrial IoT spending at $500 billion by 2020 – certainly seems impressive.

Smart partnership, very likely, but Smart Furniture, really?!? SK Telecom partners with Hyundai Livart unveiling an IoT-enabled household. Park Soo-hyung at ZDNet/Korea writes that Hyundai plans to add 10 more products that support Smart Furniture by February 2015. You’ve got to check this out to see what touchscreens can come to your home, and probably sooner than you might think.
Tech-y, tech, tech and yes, Analysis to IoT. IT World’s Joab Jackson reports that Platfora has customized software to work with immense amounts of data. “We’re seeing a lot of companies trying to get their hands on the machine data and sensor data on their networks and ask questions of this data,” states Pete Schlampp, Platfora VP of products. And we keep hearing IT analysis firm Gartner has predicted by 2020, there will be 26 billion connected IoT devices. “The era of big data will actually be dwarfed by IoT data in a couple of years.”
Dave Greenfeld shoots from the hip in Automation World’s blog, asking ‘Efforts in the U.K. to create an interoperability standard for the Internet of Things gets big backing from ARM, IBM, Intel, and VeriSign, among many others.
