What the IoT can Learn from the Health Industry on O’Reilly Radar by Andy Oram. This looks at the Internet of Things dealing with not only distributed data, but with distributed responsibility. In his blog, he writes about interoperability of electronic health records (allowing large groups of users to collaborate securely) — reasonably describes the primary challenge facing the health care industry today, at least in the IT space.

The Atmel Staff offer up a sharp look at: IT Cloud vs. IoT Cloud coming from Atmel’s VP & GM of Wireless Solutions.  He shares the top 10 factors to consider when making the transition.

Key words/hot topics on many a tongue (that being IoT and green), comes this post on China NewsAsia from Loke Kok Fai – Smarter, greener, better technology with the Internet of Things. Such as, Daikin Singapore has engaged local energy startup Green Koncepts for the energy management system running in its Ang Mo Kio Showroom, and is discussing further collaboration in the consumer space.

Avoiding data stream traffic jams, Dot Hill ready for IoT data ingest malarkey posts Chris Mellor on The Register. Classic dual-controller drive array supplier has uprated its AssuredSAN array to deal with thousands of incoming variable data streams from the growing IoT sensor sources. Dot Hill CTO estimates its predictive load-balancing algorithms in the RealStream software “can manage more than 5000 parallel data streams, yet guarantee consistent QoS“.

Thank you to Forbe’s contributor, Edmund Ingham who brings us “Forget the Internet of Things, There is a Digital Revolution Taking Place”. He kicks off the article with “2015 has been heralded as the year the Internet of Things finally takes hold, but while we wait for driverless cars and save up for our Smartwatches and assorted Wearables, the omnichannel retail revolution is gathering pace”.

A new spin from Jacquelyn Smith via Business Insider blog about 7 ways the Internet of Things could dramatically change the workplace as we know it. Nice infographic provided, walking through the ways we might personally be impacted.

A sense of the design, so check this out – A Ceiling Fan Made for the IoT coming from Katheran Wasson on the ARMConnectedCommunity. Not such a mundane topic, to the contrary. The technology inside — a series of precise environmental sensors and microcontrollers — may be complex, but the result is simple. Read how.

Don’t we all love a good competition … well, in this case we get readwrite’s article from Matt Asay on “Who’s Winning The Internet of Things Developer War? Apple And Google” Matt gets at some of the nitty gritty, based on a new VisionMobile report and more.

Going to DAC this June 7-11 in San Francisco? As many key conferences are targeting, DAC 2015 Program Emphasizes IoT, and here’s a quick look at who’s doing the talking and what it’s all about, from Richard Goering on Cadence Blog.
