John Blyler, CEO of JB Systems, Joins the RMS Partnership as a Senior Lecturer to Help Bring Systems Engineering Into the Semiconductor, Hardware-Software Embedded and Cyber-Security Industries.
PORTLAND, OR–(Marketwired – June 07, 2016) – Industry veteran editor, textbook author and system-of-systems engineer John Blyler has joined the Washington DC-based Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability Partnership (RMSP) organization. He will serve as both course developer and senior lecturer, helping to extend the RMSP reach into the semiconductor, IOT hardware-software embedded connectivity and cyber-security spaces.
Blyler has over 23 years of systems engineering hardware-software experience in the electronics industry — including work at the DoD, within the semiconductor private sector and at software start-up companies. Blyler is the founding advisor and affiliate professor of graduate-level systems engineering at Portland State University. His most recent textbook is the 5th edition of Wiley’s “Systems Engineering Management”, that he co-authored with Benjamin Blanchard, emeritus of Virginia Tech.
“Market consolidation and increasing technical/organizational complexity are driving the need for the engineering of systems across multiple domains and disciplines,” said Blyler. “I’m glad to be working with the RMS Partnership group, an established and trusted provider of system engineering education, training and services — both online and onsite. Their leadership and executive board includes a “who’s who” list from academia, industry and government.”
“The RMSP serves as a global advocate for the embedding of the RMS principles and disciplines throughout the total life cycle of existing and emerging systems hardware and software,” explained Dr. Russell A. Vacante, RMSP founder and president. “We are pleased to add John to our list of industry experts and look forward to growing systems markets in embedded IOT, cyber-security and automotive electronics.”
The RMSP offers both on-site and on-line courses, please visit the RMS Partnership site. On-line courses are taught through an agreement with Florida Institute of Technology. John Blyler’s ongoing editorial and educational work can be viewed here. He continues to speak at major conferences and before the camera on Chipestimate TV.
